The “Young disease outburst Boy” song inspired both a stage play and a manga series adaptation by Megumi Hazuki in 2017.
Kadokawa announced the staff and a visual on Monday for Chūbyō Gekihatsu Boy, the television anime adaptation of Vocaloid producer rerulili’s “Young disease outburst Boy” (“Chūbyō Gekihatsu Boy”) song and Minato Tonami’s novel adaptation.
Kadokawa has published five volumes of Tonami’s main novel series, and three volumes of Tonami’s Chūbyō Gekihatsu Boy: Seishun Shōkōgun novels.
Another song by rerulili, “Nou Shou Sakuretsu Girl” (Spinal Fluid Explosion Girl), inspired a live-action film in 2015.
