Mob Psycho 100 Manga Inspires Smartphone Puzzle App

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
App features same cast as anime series

Shogakukan began streaming a commercial on Monday for the Mob Psycho 100 Psychic Puzzle smartphone puzzle game, which launched for iOS and Android devices on Monday. The game is free to play, but in-game items cost extra.

In the game, players work to connect at least three same-color blocks and erase them. As players erase blocks, a skill gauge rises, and once it hits 100% the skill activates. Players earn coins while playing, which can be used for lottery items or to purchase new characters. The game features the same voice cast from the anime, and features the characters Shigeo "Mob" Kageyama, Arataka Reigen, Ekubo, Teruki Hanazawa, and Ritsu Kageyama.

Manga creator ONE launched the Mob Psycho 100 series on Ura Sunday in 2012 and later in Shogakukan's Manga ONE app in 2014. Shogakukan published the 13th compiled book volume of the manga on August 19.

The manga inspired a 12-episode television anime series that premiered on July 11 and is ending on Monday. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime as it airs.
