Mantan Web released the updated figures for Demon Slayer: Mugen Train today, revealing that the film has brought over 34.6 billion yen (US$336.8 million) at the Japanese box office, widening the gap between it and the second highest-grossing film of all time in Japan, Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away.
After becoming the highest-grossing film of all time in Japan last week, this week Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba THE MOVIE Mugen Train became the most attended film of all-time in Japan, with 25.48 million tickets sold for the film.
At 25.48 million tickets sold for the film, Demon Slayer finally became the most attended film of all-time in Japan, overtaking Spirited Away’s 24.28 million tickets sold.
