Weekly Shonen Sunday previously noted that Meitantei Conan Zero no Tea Time (Detective Conan: Zero’s Tea Time), the spinoff manga series by Takahiro Arai centering on the character Tōru Amuro, will have new chapters when the main Detective Conan manga is on hiatus, and will not publish chapters of the manga otherwise.
Detective Conan has been running since 1994, and last August it became the first Weekly Shonen Sunday series to publish its 1,000th chapter.
This year’s sixth issue of Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine announced on Wednesday that Gosho Aoyama’s Detective Conan manga will take a four-week hiatus, starting with the magazine’s next issue and continuing through the 10th issue, so that Aoyama can conduct research.
The 22st film in the series, Detective Conan: Zero the Enforcer (Meitantei Conan Zero no Shikkōnin), opened on April 13 and became the highest-earning film in the franchise’s history.
