The Japanese entertainment news website Cinema Today reported on Friday that Detective Conan: Zero the Enforcer (Meitantei Conan Zero no Shikkōnin), the 22nd film in the Detective Conan franchise, has earned more than 11 billion yen (about US$97.1 million) worldwide.
The film is a sequel of the series’ 20th film, Detective Conan: The Darkest Nightmare, and centers on Tōru “Zero” Amuro.
The film opened in Japan on April 13, and earned the highest opening weekend record for the franchise.
In Japan, the film has earned 9.1 billion yen (about US$80.3 million), and is the eighth highest-grossing anime film in Japan of all time, and the 47th highest-grossing film in Japan in general.
