In an interview with film news website Collider posted on Friday, Adam Wingard (The Guest, You’re Next), the director of Netflix’s live-action Death Note film, elaborated on the film.
The director compared the film’s tone to his own The Guest film, describing Death Note as “a return for me to go back to doing something kind of weird.”
Wingard said that the Death Note film has “basically like three good Jason Eisener short films in there and they’re all very gory.”
Wingard also contrasted the film to his current Blair Witch horror sequel film, which opened in the United States on Friday.
