The manga is titled The Gentetsu 999, where “999” is pronounced “sankyū,” meaning either “three nines” or “thank you”).
Maco-Ching Ishihara (The Three Young-Men in Midnight) launched a new comedy manga based on Leiji Matsumoto’s Galaxy Express 999 (Ginga Tetsudo 999) on Kakao Japan Corporation’s Piccoma website.
The manga had a stage play adaptation in June and July to celebrate the franchise’s 40th anniversary.
