The building is open now to those who visit the Aichi Earth Expo Memorial Park in Aichi prefecture for free, while the rest of Ghibli Park is set to open on November 1 with the Ghibli’s Grand Warehouse area, the Hill of Youth, and the Dondoko Forest.
Ghibli showcased the building in a series of tweets explaining that the 19th Century aesthetic was the influence on how Laputa: Castle in the Sky looked.
The second stage of the park’s opening, which includes the Valley of the Witches and Mononoke Village, isn’t yet dated.
