The first TV anime series from Naoko Yamada (A Silent Voice) after breaking away from Kyoto Animation, The Tale of Heike, announced its opening and ending theme songs and artists today, revealing that Yamada and music composer Kensuke Ushio worked together to find the right music for the series.
The opening theme song for The Tale of Heike will be “Hikaru Toki (When It Shines)” from band Hitsujibungaku with Moeka Shiotsuka singing.
The music in The Tale of Heike was worked on by Ushio and Yamada to convey the themes of the historic stories told in the TV anime, but won’t be limited by the time period or country and will feature everything from post-rock to electronic music.
