The 65th Annual Grammy Awards were held earlier today in Los Angeles, marking one of the biggest events on the music industry calendar for the year but for Japanese musician Masa Takumi, whose real name is Masanori Takumi, it was the biggest night of his life as his latest album “Sakura” won a grammy for Best Global Music album, the first Japanese artist to win in this category.
Takumi said he was “speechless” on stage accepting the award in Los Angeles.
His Grammy award-winning album “Sakura” combines his experience with traditional Asian instruments which features him playing the shamisen, a three-stringed traditional Japanese musical instrument, and the piano.
