The film sold 120,000 tickets and earned 143 million yen (US$1.29 million) on 301 screens on its opening weekend on May 20.
The King of Prism: PRIDE the HERO anime film sold 47,000 tickets and earned 82 million yen (about US$746,000) in its opening weekend to rank at #7 at the Japanese box office.
The film had earned more than 6.5 billion yen (about US$59 million) as of June 4, setting a new record for the Detective Conan film series.
The live-action film of Usamaru Furuya’s Teiichi no Kuni (Teiichi’s Country) manga fell off the rankings this past weekend.
