While takings for the Kyoto Animation anime film have dropped off significantly, Violet Evergarden the Movie has still brought in 1.28 billion yen (US$12.1 million) since it was released on September 28, with 890,000 ticket sales.
At 1.28 billion yen (US$12.1 million) in takings, Violet Evergarden the Movie remains the 3rd highest-grossing anime film from Kyoto Animation, behind Naoko Yamada’s A Silent Voice and K-ON! the Movie.
Taichi Ishidate returned from the TV anime series to direct Violet Evergarden the Movie, the first production finished after the July 2019 arson attack against Kyoto Animation.
