The original Cutie Honey manga ran from 1973 to 1974 in Akita Shoten’s Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine, and has inspired numerous anime adaptations (Cutie Honey TV, New Cutie Honey, Re: Cutie Honey), live-action adaptations (a 2004 live-action film directed by Hideaki Anno, Cutie Honey: The Live TV series), and spin-offs (Cutie Honey Flash).
Directed by A.T. (Takeshi Asai), the film stars Mariya Nishiuchi as Honey Kisaragi / Cutie Honey.
