According to Deadline, Apple TV+ picked up the project from Legendary Entertainment, reportedly beating out substantial competition to acquire the international series.
The Drops of God show—which is a co-production between Legendary Television, Dynamic Television, France Televisions and Hulu Japan, in partnership with Adline Entertainment—is planned for eight parts and reportedly has a budget of around $30 million, with filming taking place in France, Japan and Italy.
This is a rare instance of Apple licensing an international co-production rather than producing an original scripted series.
