MX4D screenings of Hayao Miyazaki’s 1979 Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro anime film began on Friday, January 20.
Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro was the first feature film Miyazaki directed, and it features the master thief Lupin the Third, created by the manga artist Monkey Punch.
The film sold 9816 tickets in its first three days at 17 theaters and earned 21,595,200 yen (about US$190,000).
With the 4DX or MX4D systems, certain theaters have motion seats that move in sync with certain action sequences onscreen.
