Sony announced at its PlayStation press conference at Tokyo Game Show on Tuesday that Hit-Point’s smartphone app Neko Atsume: Kitty Collector is inspiring the Neko Atsume VR game for PlayStation VR in 2018.
The Neko Atsume no Ie (Neko Atsume’s Home) live-action film based on Hit-Point’s game opened in Japan on April 8.
Japan Society’s Japan Cuts: Festival of New Japanese Film event in New York City screened the film on July 16.
The original cat-collecting game has been downloaded more than 19 million times worldwide since it debuted in October 2014.
