One Piece Film Gold has now earned 5,007,520,000 yen (about US$48.8 million) at the Japanese box office as of Thursday, 48 days after it opened.
The film has now surpassed the 2009 One Piece: Strong World film’s earnings of 4.8 billion yen (about US$46.87 million) to become the second-highest earning film in the franchise.
