One Piece Film: Red is also the second-fastest film in Japan to reach the 10 billion yen milestone surpassing the mark 5 days ahead of Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away.
One Piece Film: Red has reached heights and taken bounties tougher than any anime film in the franchise has ever dreamed, with the official Twitter account confirming this morning that Toei Animation-produced film has passed 10 billion yen at the Japanese box office, doing so in just 20 days.
As of August 25, the film’s 20th day in theaters, One Piece Film: Red has brought in 10 billion yen (US$72.86 million) on the back of 7.2 million tickets sold.
