After reporting yesterday that Pokémon Sword and Shield sold 1.3 million copies in Japan over the first three days of sale from retail copies of the game, The Pokémon Company International reports on November 21 that Pokémon Sword and Shield has sold 6 million copies worldwide in the game’s first week on the Nintendo Switch.
In Japan, first-week sales of Pokémon Sword and Shield have topped 2 million copies sold, which mega evolves passed first-week figures for Pokémon Lets Go Pikachu and Eevee, and Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.
Pokémon Sword and Shield have claimed not only the top spot in Japan but the world in software sales for Nintendo’s latest console.
