Polygon Pictures (Ronja the Robber’s Daughter, Ajin) will animate the series, titled Pingu in the City, in full CG instead of the claymation used in previous Pingu series.
NHK announced on Monday that its E-Tele channel will air a new anime series based on the Swiss penguin character Pingu beginning on October 7.
Otmar Gutmann created the Swiss claymation series, which first debuted in 1986.
The anime will air both in the mornings at 9:20 a.m. and evenings at 5:25 p.m., and each episode will be seven minutes.
