Sony announced on Tuesday that it will lay off 8% of its global PlayStation workforce, which includes an estimated 900 employees.
The company cited the changing industry landscape, as well as the need to maintain the “long-term sustainability” of the company.
Sony revealed in its company email that U.S. employees affected by the changes will be notified immediately.
The news comes after similar workforce changes across the tech and gaming industry in the past year.
