It’s a blast from the past (or possibly the future), because Kadokawa has released a special preview video promoting Yojohan Time Machine Blues (“The Tatami Time Machine Blues”), a sequel novel to The Tatami Galaxy written by Tomihiko Morimi and Makoto Ueda and featuring a cover illustration by Yusuke Nakamura, and the video features voice actor Shintarō Asanuma reprising his role as the fast-talking protagonist from the 2010 TV anime adaptation of The Tatami Galaxy.
The story of Yojohan Time Machine Blues is set during a sweltering midsummer day when Ozu, the protagonist’s “terrible friend”, accidentally drowns the only remote control for the air conditioning unit in their apartment.
The Tatami Galaxy was first published in Japan in 2004, and the series was also adapted into a TV anime in 2010 with direction by Masaaki Yuasa and animation production by MADHOUSE.
