Manga creator Takao Yaguchi passed away due to pancreatic cancer in a Tokyo hospital on November 20.
The Yokote Masuda Manga Museum, a museum in Yokote city dedicated to Yaguchi’s works, announced on Wednesday that it will hold a gathering to celebrate and remember Yaguchi at a later date.
He is perhaps best known for his Tsurikichi Sampei fishing manga, which ran in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine from 1973 to 1983, and had 65 compiled book volumes.
