The car will debut this weekend at the season-opening Formula D event on the Streets of Long Beach street circuit to open up the festivities ahead of the IndyCar and IMSA WeatherTech races being held next weekend on the same course.
To celebrate the debut of the new car, the team has decided to shoot an introduction video that pays tribute to Initial D, by reenacting the opening sequence used in the anime adaptation with driver Frederic Aasbo.
Formula Drift may not be as big as other racing series in the US, but the series proudly displays its Japanese car culture influence all the way down to the teams that participate in the series.
